In A Manner Of Speaking

In a Manner of speaking
I just want to say
That I could never forget the way
You told me everything
By saying nothing

In a manner of speaking
I don't understand
How love in silence becomes reprimand
But the way that i feel about you
Is beyond words

Give me the words
That tell me nothing

Give me the words
That tell me everything

In a manner of speaking
Semantics won't do
In this life that we live we only make do
And the way that we feel
Might have to be sacrificed

So in a manner of speaking
I just want to say
That just like you I should find a way
To tell you everything
By saying nothing.

i wish i could write poetry like you ma'am :) come to think of it..i wish i could understand poetry better for i'm sure my understanding does no justice to what you write.

this one in particular struck a chord with me..... as people..women especially..say a lot without really saying anything...they just give me this meaningful look..the one you prolly giving me just right now which tells me i'm doing something wrong...
you are playing and entirely different tune here arent you?

hmm..
a tune familiar that can become unfamiliar

i can make any tune familiar become unfamiliar...i only have to sing it out loud..unless you talking metaphorically ..then its just the story of my life..hmmm...

metaphors help us in ways-they're more constant.
tunes come and go.

metaphors usually only get me into trouble, and the day i do anything beyond listening a tune, like creating one..it will do the same..till then, i hope you keep on writing :)although it seems that most if not all of your poetry is very personal, it has helped an ametuer like me realise that spelling like its a sin to do so and punctuation which would put you in mind of little kids playin pin the donkey just goes to that the world is not ready for my tune yet :) good bye
